Happy Easter Everyone!

So it's after midnight and officially Easter!

Crap, I should be munching on chocolate! I'm so proud to say I actually went through with my Lenten fast of chocolate in I don't know how many years. I didn't cheat at all! Well, I once had ice cream that had the tiniest bit of chocolate chunks in it, but that doesn't count at all! I was craving ice cream so bad and all they had at the corner market was vanilla with a bit of chocolate in it. I needed it bad, and technically it wasn't chocolate candy - which is what I technically gave up. So yeah, I made it! I'm so going to have Robin Eggs tomorrow!

Anyway, sorry for the tangent, Happy Easter! I'm so excited for R's first Easter. I can't wait to give her the cute basket I made up for her with books and little toys! I really want to take her to church for the first time, but I'm not sure it's such a hot idea. She doesn't do well with crowds and noise on a level much smaller than that, so I can only imagine what tomorrow would be like for her. I know it's probably a selfish idea, but I really thought it would be a great symbol to take her to church for her very first time on Easter. I'll probably wait, but I'm a bit disappointed that it's not going to work out.

Our church is 45 minutes away, we'd have to get her up early and miss her morning nap (which means she'd be a terror at Easter with the family and later at home), and she'll hate it. I'm sighing currently because I just decided it wasn't meant to be. I guess I'll have to hold out and hope she'll be ready for a baptism around 8 months.

What happens if the baby is hysterical from the crowd and noise at her own baptism? Does she have to leave?! Fingers crossed people!

Look at me getting ahead of myself again. One issue I constantly have is worrying too far in advance. I'm going to not think about that anymore and worry about getting through tomorrow at the family. She usually only lasts an hour or so at those get-togethers, so we'll worry about church later.

Sorry about the rambling, it's late.

Once again, hope everyone has a Happy Easter and the Bunny treated you well! As a treat, here's R with her Easter Bunny. Yes, I consider any and all pictures of my R a treat. I am so one of those Moms.

P.S. Happy Birthday to one of my dear friends and co-pilots Stacey!

  1. Don't feel bad about holding out on taking her to church. I'm sure you talk/read to her about Jesus at home. Anyway, that pic is absolutely adorable. Happy Easter and enjoy the robin's eggs :)

  2. Don't feel bad about taking her to church. You will have plenty of time to teach and bring her to church. The picture of your daughter in that basket is absolutely gorgeous. I love Robin eggs too. HAVE A NICE HAPPY EASTER!!!

  4. Oh my goodness...your lil' sweetie is too adorable! That picture is sooo very cute. Our little GG is 8 months old and we've been to church only a handful of times since her birth. I'm a SAHM and I don't want to drop her off in the nursery quite yet. We attended church with my parents this morning and now that she is so mobile she had a hard time sitting still. Not wanting to disrupt other parishioners my husband and my dad took her out. I'm sure we'll be back full time one day soon but just not quite yet! Don't feel bad! Hope you had a wonderful Easter.
